Day 1. Arrival in Irkutsk
Morning arrival in Irkutsk. 3-h Irkutsk city tour. City tour might impress you with different sights illustrating the history of Russia. You will see oldest brick building of the city Church of Our Savior (the 17th c.). Transfer to hotel***. Accommodation since 14:00.
Morning arrival in Irkutsk. 3-h Irkutsk city tour. City is situated on a picturesque bank of the Angara River. Irkutsk was founded by Russian Cossacks in 1661 as small settlement. At the end of the 17th c. Irkutsk became the most important transit point on trade routes from Russia to Mongolia and China. City tour might impress you with different sights illustrating the history of Russia. You will see oldest brick building of the city Church of Our Savior (the 17th c.). Transfer to hotel***. Day 2. (Wed/Sat) Circum Baikal Rail Road
Breakfast. Check out. Transfer to the train station. Circum Baikal Rail Road tour. You will visit the old branch line of Transsiberian Rail Road by special tourist train. Tour includes lunchbox. By evening arrival in Baikalsk. Transfer by ferry in Listvyanka at a hotel***. (BL)
Breakfast. Check out. Transfer to the train station. Circum Baikal Rail Road tour. You will visit the old branch line of Transsiberian Rail Road by special tourist train. Circum Baikal Rail Road is the largest open-air museum in the World. It runs along the Northern shore of the Southern extremity of the lake. Until 1949 the Circum-Baikal railway was part of the main line, however, a duplicate section of the railway was built. Sometimes called a unique achievement in engineering the Circum-Baikal is one of the picturesque sights of the area around Lake Baikal. After Slyudianka station the train will make stops to view the Baikal shore and sites of the railway. Tour includes lunchbox. By evening arrival in Baikalsk. Day 3. Baikal Lake walking tour
Breakfast. Baikal Lake walking tour. You will visit the Limnological Museum (the Baikal ecology museum), the Chersky Stone panoramic platform with picturesque the Lake Baikal and the Angara River source view, St. Nicholas Church and souvenir and fish market. Overnight at hotel***. (B)
Day 4. & Taltsy tour
Breakfast. Check out. Transfer to Irkutsk. On the way excursion at the Taltsy open-air Museum of Wooden Architecture and Ethnography situated in the picturesque place on the bank of the Angara River. Arrival in Listvianka settlement located at the Lake Baikal shore. Arrival in Irkutsk. Accommodation at hotel***. (B)
Breakfast. Check out. Transfer to Irkutsk. On the way excursion at the Taltsy open-air Museum of Wooden Architecture and Ethnography situated in the picturesque place on the bank of the Angara River. Museum represents a common Siberian village. Authentic wooden buildings of the 17-19th cc. carried away from different parts of the Irkutsk Region were reassembled at one place presenting Russian, Evenk and Buryat way of living.
