Overview

During this tour you will visit unique places of Kamchatka: Tolbachinsky Dol with its cone, caves, Dead forest, waterfalls and volcanic massif formed by volcano Shiveluch with its Wings of Gamuls Canyon. You will also visit original settlements of Kamchatka.

Itinerary

Day 1. Welcome to Kamchatka
Meeting at the airport, transfer to Petropavlovsk (25 km)/ or to Paratunka (walking in the city / or swimming in pool with thermal water). At 18:00 moving to the settlement Milkovo (280 km, 3-4 hours). Accommodation at the Geolog Hotel (the room has a toilet and washbasin, shower is located in a separate room on the floor).
Day 2. Tolbachinsky Dol
Moving by vehicle to the Tolbachinsky Dol (240km – 6-7 h), to the foot of the beautiful volcanic massif formed by volcanoes the Ostry (Sharp) Tolbachik and the Plosky (Plane) Tolbachik (90 km, 3 hours). Overnight in tents. (BLD)
Day 3. Tolbachinsky Dol
Observing new (eruption of 2013) lava cones, flows and caves. Overnight in tents. (BLD)
Day 4. North and South breakthroughs
Drive to the North breakthrough and making a simple climb to the new Tolbachik cones — volcanoes in miniature, their height is about 100-200 m. Roast hot dogs and buns in the cracks still hot lava. Drive to the South breakthrough (18 km), walk in the Dead Forest, the destruction of scoria and ash eruptions in 1975. Transfer to Kozyrevsk (90 km, 3 h). Accommodation in wooden houses at a tourist base. Russian steam bath. (BLD)
Day 5. Shiveluch Dol
Moving by vehicle (120 km) to the beautiful volcanic massif formed by volcano Shiveluch (3307m). On the way stop for lunch at Klyuchi village (to be paid on spot). Walking (1-1.5 hours) to the Wings of Gamuls (mythical Spirits of Volcanoes) Canyon. Overnight in tents. (BD)
Day 6. Shiveluch Dol
Walking (6-7 hours) to an active «young» dome of a volcano. Movement on lava and slag fields (volcanic landscapes, congestions of volcanic bombs). In the evening return to a camp. Moving to Kozyrevsk (120 km, 2,5 h). Accommodation in wooden houses at a tourist base. Russian steam bath. (BLD)
Day 7. Petropanlovsk-Kamchatsky
Returning to Petropanlovsk-Kamchatsky. Early vehicle transfer (480 km, 6-7 hr) to the hotel. Stop for lunch at cafe in Milkovo settlement (to pay on spot) and stop at Malki hot springs on the way. Accommodation, rest. (B)
Day 8. Farewell Kamchatka
Visiting fish market, buying Kamchatka souvenirs. Transfer to the airport. (B)
