Overview

We invite you to visit Latvian Ethnographic open-air museum situated in a forest park at a lake just outside the capital. The museum consists of about 90 traditional rural buildings dating back to the XVII c.: historical dwellings, homesteads, a tavern and windmills have been gathered here from all over Latvia. This museum inspired by open-air museums in Scandinavia was established in 1924 and in 1932 it was opened to the public.
