Overview

We invite you to Golden Ring – spacious area located to the East and North-East from Moscow. Kremlins and monasteries stand guard over the Russian landscape with its subdued tones and flat skyline, adding them color and variety. During this 2-day tour you will visit the most popular places of Golden Ring region: Vladimir, Suzdal, Bogolyubovo and one of the largest centers of Russian Orthodox Church – St. Sergius Holy Trinity Monastery in Sergiev Posad.

Itinerary

Day 1. Moscow - Sergiev Posad - Vladimir
Meeting with guide at the hotel lobby. Start of guided Golden Ring tour by private vehicle. Transfer to Sergiev Posad (62 km) – a spiritual center of Russian Orthodoxy. St. Sergius Holy Trinity Monastery grounds and churches tour. The Dormition Cathedral. Transfer to Vladimir (202 km). Vladimir city tour. Transfer to Suzdal (30 km). Accommodation at the Sokol Hotel ***.
Meeting with guide at the hotel lobby. Start of guided Golden Ring tour by private vehicle. Transfer to Sergiev Posad (62 km) – a spiritual center of Russian Orthodoxy. St. Sergius Holy Trinity Monastery grounds and churches tour. Architectural ensemble of the Monastery reflects all steps of the Russian architecture development. The Trinity Cathedral has an unique iconostasis of Andrei Rublev. The Dormition Cathedral is a sepulcher of the Russian patriarchs. Transfer to Vladimir (202 km). Free time for lunch. Vladimir city tour. You will see three great samples of Russian architecture: Cathedral of the Dormition (1157-1160) and Church of St. Demetrius (1194-1197) standing close to the Cathedral and Golden Gates (1158-1164) – white-stoned Arch of Triumph with Church over the Gates. Golden Gates museum visit. Transfer to Suzdal (30 km). Accommodation at the Sokol Hotel ***.

Day 2. Suzdal – Bogolyubovo - Moscow
Breakfast. Suzdal city tour. Suzdal is one of the oldest and the best-preserved Russian towns. You will see Suzdal Kremlin with the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady, the Monastery of the St. Euthimius, the Convent of Intercession, folk wooden architecture open-air museum and many other places of interest. Free time for lunch. Transfer to Bogolyubovo (40 km). Transfer to your hotel in Moscow (190 km). 22:00 Approximate time of arrival in Moscow.
Breakfast. Suzdal city tour. Suzdal is one of the oldest and the best-preserved Russian towns. You will see Suzdal Kremlin with the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady, the Monastery of the St. Euthimius, the Convent of Intercession, folk wooden architecture open-air museum and many other places of interest. Free time for lunch. Transfer to Bogolyubovo (40 km). This small town was the first stone town of Northern Russia. You will visit functioning convent built in the place of prince Andrei Bogolyubsky residence. If weather is good you have a chance to see the only fragment of Russian civil architecture of the XII c. — white stone the Intercession Church on the Nerl River. Transfer to your hotel in Moscow (190 km). 22:00 Approximate time of arrival in Moscow.
