During 5-day tour offered you will visit the most popular places of interest of St. Petersburg and its suburbs: the the Fortress of St. Peter and St. Paul, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Nevsky Prospect, Palace Square, the Neva River embankments, the famous Hermitage museum, fantastic palace and park in Petershof and well-known Amber Room in Tsarskoye Selo.

Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival.
Arrival in St. Petersburg. Transfer without guide to the hotel. Accommodation since 14:00.
Day 2. City sightseeing including the Fortress of St. Peter and St. Paul. Hermitage.
Breakfast. Meeting with your guide at the lobby.  St. Petersburg city tour.

St. Petersburg city tour: Nevsky Prospect, Neva’s embankments, Rostral Columns, buildings of Hermitage museum, the Fortress of St. Peter and St. Paul (entrance) located at the small island on the north bank of the Neva River – a place where history of the city began in 1703, Senate Square, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Nicolay I statue, Peter I statue (Alexander Pushkin’s “Bronze Horseman”), Summer Garden, the Field of Mars, Resurrection Cathedral on the Spilt Blood built on the place where emperor Alexander II was killed by terrorists on 01.03.1881, Square of Arts, Palace Square with Alexander Column. Free time for dinner (to pay on spot).
Hermitage museum tour. Hermitage is one of the largest fine arts museums in the world. Somebody calculated that if a visitor stops only for one minute in front of each exhibit it will take him over 9 years to see all items exhibited. Tour includes visit of the main building (former Winter Palace) and also the General Staff Building where collection of impressionists and the XX century art is exhibited. (B)

Peterhof was designed to the request of Peter the Great to rival the Sun King and his Versailles. 300-acres park on the shore of Gulf of Finland, spectacular fountains, the Grand Palace crowing the hill above fountains and about 20 smaller places and pavilions represent “Russian Versailles” now. Yusupov Palace tour. You will visit a palace of one of the most influence noble families of Russia designed and decorated to rival grandeur and luxury of the royal living quarters. Tour includes walking down the winding staircase into a cellar where Grigory Rasputin was killed on 17/12/1916.   
Tsarskoye Selo tour: park, Catherine’s Palace. Tsarskoye Selo was the main summer residence of the imperial family from the 18th c.. It was beloved residence of the last imperial couple who spent every winter there. From here Nicholas, Alexandra, their children and servants were sent by Provisional Government into exile to Tobolsk.   (B)
