The Old Town is the main tourist attraction of Tallinn but it is not the only one. Kadriorg Palace was built in early XVIII c. in the Baroque accordingly to the order Russian tsar Peter I. The neoclassical palace of the president of Estonia (1938) is located in front of the Kadriorg Palace. Since 1928 the Kadriorg Park is an open-air stage for the traditional Song Festivals. Mass public events held at the Song Festival Grounds in Tallinn in June-September 1988 became history as the "Singing Revolution". During the last event, the musical and political festival "Song of Estonia" on 11/09/1988 (mass media reported about 300,000 participants) a call for reestablishing of independence was first publicly voiced here.
