Overview

During the trip you’ll visit such unique places of Kamchatka as active volcanoes the Mutnovsky & the Avachinsky, which are considered to be the most beautiful volcanoes of Kamchatka; the unique and the wonderful Valley of Geysers – the World miracle. You’ll be able to have a sea trip along the Avacha Bay and the Pacific Ocean and the Valley of Geysers. You’ll raft at the Bystraya River, which flows through stately mountain range. You’ll be able to watch wild nature of Kamchatka: brown bear, salmon motion at rivers, birds.

Itinerary

Day 1. Welcome to Kamchatka
Arrival at the airport, transfer to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (20 km). Accommodation at a hotel. Rest. Strolls along the city. (D)
Day 2. Avacha Bay boat trip
Free day. Boat trip around Avacha Bay. Watching sea bird colonies of the Babushkin Kamen Island, the Three Brothers Rocks. Going out into the Pacific Ocean to the Starichkov Island. Watching the sea birds colony (including the Steller’s sea eagle) which is the biggest in Kamchatka. Sea fishing. Lunch with salmon fresh soup. In the evening driving to the Mutnovsky Volcano by “off road” car (100 km). Setting up the camp. Overnight at tents. (BLD)
Day 3. Mutnovsky volcano
Ascent to the crater of the volcano Mutnovsky (2323 m). Observing active fumaroles, mud siphons, mountain lake. The Mutnovsky crater is the one of the most outstanding volcanic phenomenon in Kamchatka. The steep slopes surrounded the wide and deep cavity of the crater with gleaming glaciers, crushed cracks and lunges boiling fumaroles (ascent lasts for approximately 8 hours). Night in tents. (BLD)
Day 4. Gorely volcano
Excursion to Gorely volcano (1829m), walk along the coulee (hardened lava-stream), slag fields, seeing of 3 craters with lakes in it. The excursion takes 5-6 hours. Driving to the Paratunka resort area. Accommodation, rest, bathing in swimming-pools with hot thermal water (hot springs). (BLD)
Day 5. Paratunka and optional tours
Free day. On this day optional helicopter tour is recommended: 1) The Valley of Geysers; 2) Bears of the Kuril Lake. In the evening driving to Avachinsky Volcano by “off road” car (45 km). Accomodation at the tour basis. Accommodation for a night in houses, in rooms on 4 — 10 person. (BD)
Day 6. Avachinsky volcano ascent
Ascent to the Avachinsky Volcano (2749 m). Walk to the young cone of volcano. From the edge of the volcano a stunning view could be seen: Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Elizovo, valley of the Avacha River and the Avacha Bay; the Vilyuchinsky, the Mutnovsky and the Gorely Volcanoes — to the South; the valley of the Nalychevo River, the Zhupanovsky & the Dzenzur Volcanoes – to the North. The massive cone of the Koryak Volcano is seen to the west. Ascent takes about 6-8 hours. If the climbing up is difficult for somebody it’s possible to return to the camp. Day 7. Camel Mountain
Excursion walk on the slopes of Koryaksky volcano and to the Camel Mountain (4-5 hours). Transfer to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Accommodation at hotel. (BLD)
Day 8. Bystraya River rafting
Driving to the Bystraya River (120 km). Beginning of rafting on floatable rafts. It takes place among grand mountain ranges along the river with some rapids. The nature is virtually unspoilt It’s secure for novices. The diner at the fire, fish-soup. Spending the night in tents. (BLD)
Day 9. Bystraya River rafting
Rafting along the Bystraya River (2 rapids). During rafting you can fish, pick some mushrooms and berries, and watch birds and wild ducks, and many other animals.If you are lucky enough, you’ll see a bear or a Steller’s sea eagle. All those things make the rafting very interesting. Spending the night in tents. (BLD)
Day 10. Bystraya River rafting - Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky
Rafting along the Bystraya River (1 rapid). End of rafting. Driving to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (180 km). Accommodation at a hotel, rest. (BLD)
Day 11. Farewell Kamchatka
