Day 1. Arrival
Arrival in Moscow. Transfer without guide to the hotel. Accommodation since 14:00.

3-hour Moscow city tour: Red Square (Cathedral of St. Basil, Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, History Museum building, Kremlin towers, Upper Trading Arcades (GUM), Lenin’s tomb and necropolis), The Cathedral of Christ the Savior, New Maiden Convent, The Moscow State University campus and panorama platform on the Vorobiovy (Sparrow) Hills, Moscow boulevards, The Theater Square with the Bolshoi Theater and the Metropol hotel. Free time for lunch (to pay on spot).
1-hour Kremlin grounds tour: Cathedral Sq. – breathtaking architectural ensemble of the 15th-17th cc. including visit of one of cathedrals (the Annunciation Cathedral where Moscow and Russian grand princes and tsars were baptized, the Assumption Cathedral where they were crowned or the Archangel Michael Cathedral where they were buried), Bell the Tsar and Cannon the Tsar – stunning examples of the XVI casting, the Grand Kremlin Palace (residence of emperors and president’s gala reception quarters), the Senate, the Arsenal and the Palace of Congresses specially built in communist times for XXII Congress of CPSU (1961) which adopted new CPSU programme (plan of building communism by 1980). Breakfast. Meeting with guide at the hotel lobby. Transfer to Sergiev Posad (62 km) – a spiritual center of Russian Orthodoxy.

Architectural ensemble of the Monastery reflects all steps of the Russian architecture development. The Trinity Cathedral has an unique iconostasis by Andrei Rublev. The Dormition Cathedral is a sepulcher of the Russian patriarchs. Lunch at local restaurant is included. (BL)

Day 4. Metro. Arbat Street.

Breakfast. Meeting with guide at the hotel lobby. Moscow Metro tour. You can enjoy this spectacular system of underground public transport with its mosaics, statues, stained glass and chandeliers. Walking tour along the Arbat – a small pedestrian street (850 m long) right in the center of Moscow. Here you will see the house of general Khitrovo where great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin spent several happy months after his wedding with Natalia Goncharova, house where the Silver Age poet Andrei Bely lived, a lot of interest revenue houses in “modern” style, for example, Filatov’s House (“House with Knights”). Return to the hotel by metro. Note: No transfers by vehicle on this day. All transfers are by metro only. (B)
