We invite you to visit Sigulda (50 km to the North-East from Riga), one of the most beautiful cities of Latvia located on the territory of the Gauja National Park. You will see the old Turaida Castle founded in 1214 as the residence of of the Bishop of Riga and new castle in Sigulda originally built in Gothic Revival style and then rebuilt in 1878-1881 for prince Dimitry Kropotkin (cousin of famous thinker, one of the main theoreticians of anarchism Pyotr Kropotkin), look at the largest sand cave in Latvia - Gutman's Cave, hear the legend of the Rose of Turaida, visit Turaida Manor, enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Gauja River ancient bed from the castle watch tower.
